Wok Box started in 2004 as a single storefront on Jasper Avenue in downtown Edmonton, with lines wrapping around the block from day one. The idea was simple: Asian food beyond the mall food court, cooked fresh in a real wok a few steps from where you order. The Hanlon Creek location has free parking in the lot, and the route 50 U bus stops right outside. Inside it has a modern-minimalist feel. Strollers fit easily, it takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Saturday, Sunday, kids twelve and under eat free.
