Wok Box started in 2004 as a single storefront on Jasper Avenue in downtown Edmonton, with lines wrapping around the block from day one. The idea was simple: Asian food beyond the mall food court, cooked fresh in a real wok a few steps from where you order. The Southeast Calgary location is a single-storey building, steps from Shepard Regional Centre. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 92 and 117 stop right outside. Inside it has a modern-minimalist feel. Strollers fit easily, the washroom is wheelchair accessible, and there's an open kitchen.
