The Pickle Barrel opened in 1971 as an 85-seat Jewish deli on Leslie Street in North York, with a lineup outside the day the doors opened. The menu has grown past 300 items; the idea never changed. The Town Centre location is a single-storey building. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 100 and 112 stop right outside. Inside it has an upscale-casual feel. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible.
