Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Welland location is a single-story strip mall restaurant with beige stucco and brown stone veneer, featuring a prominent tower element with circular Boston Pizza logo in red and blue, and red lettering on orange background. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 70 and 75 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly.
