Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Westney location is a standalone single-story building with beige stucco upper walls, dark grey brick base, large windows, and prominent red Boston Pizza signage on white background. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 224 and 900 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
