Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Lower Sackville location is a single-story strip mall restaurant with beige stucco walls, grey stone accent panels, brown wood siding, prominent red curved awning, and large red Boston Pizza sign with circular BP logo. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 8 and 87 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There's a patio, it takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner. It does birthday parties.
