Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Tanglewood location is a modern two-story standalone building with dark grey corrugated metal siding, light grey concrete panels, stone veneer base, and prominent orange accent panel featuring the Boston Pizza logo. There's free parking in the lot, and the route 116 bus stops right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There's a patio, strollers fit easily, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
