Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Walsh Acres location is a single-story strip mall building with beige stucco walls, dark stone accent columns, large illuminated Boston Pizza sign with red letters, and glass entrance doors under a permanent awning, steps from Craigie Park. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 16 and 17 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly.
