Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Port Coquitlam location is a single-story grey stucco strip mall end unit with red accent band, large windows, and prominent red BOSTON PIZZA channel letter signage. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 171 and 701 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game. There's a patio, strollers fit easily, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
