Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Walnut Grove location is a single-story standalone building with red-orange stucco facade, white metal siding sections, brown stone veneer columns, and large red Boston Pizza signage with covered entrance canopy, steps from Langley Sportsplex. There's free parking in the lot, and streetcars on routes 501 and 595 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
