Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Shellmont location is a single-story strip mall restaurant with beige stucco walls, natural stone entrance columns, and prominent red circular Boston Pizza logo mounted on white background above the entrance. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 403 and 404 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly.
