Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The North Whitby location is a single-story strip mall end unit with beige stucco walls, grey stone veneer columns, orange metal panel accents, large windows, and prominent covered entrance with Boston Pizza signage. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 915 and 921 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
