Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Woodgrove location is a single-story strip mall building with beige stucco walls, grey stone base accent, peaked roof elements, and prominent red Boston Pizza illuminated sign with yellow lettering. There's free parking in the lot, and the route 40 bus stops right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game. There are booths, there's a patio, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner. It's a family crowd.
