Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Overbrook-McArthur location is a modern single-story strip mall unit with orange stucco accent panel, grey stucco main walls, beige stone veneer base, and large illuminated Boston Pizza sign, steps from Petro-Canada. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 7 and 14 stop right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
