Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. This Downtown location is a single-story standalone restaurant with red brick base, beige stucco upper walls, prominent grey tower element with circular red and blue BP logo, and red Boston Pizza signage, steps from Fraser River. It sits in Columbia Square Plaza, with free parking in the lot, and the route 112 bus stops right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There's a patio, it takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on pizza, plus burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
