Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Downtown Fort McMurray location is a single-story strip mall end unit with tan stucco upper walls, brown stone veneer base, flat dark roof, and prominent red Boston Pizza channel letter signage with circular logo, steps from Athabasca River. There's free parking in the lot. Inside it has a family-casual feel. There's a patio, it takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day.
