Boston Pizza opened in Edmonton in 1964, named by founder Gus Agioritis for a city he dreamed of visiting. It grew into Canada's largest casual dining chain, with a family dining room on one side and a sports bar on the other. The Southridge location is a single-story corner unit in strip mall with light grey metal siding, large windows, and prominent red and blue Boston Pizza signage, steps from Centennial Arena. There's free parking in the lot. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. Kids ten and under eat free every day. The menu runs on wings, plus burgers, pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner. It's a family crowd.
