The first Barley Mow opened in 1996 in Kanata, an English-style neighbourhood pub for Ottawa's growing suburbs. The chain spread across the region one community fixture at a time. The Brookside-Briarbrook-Morgan's Grant location is a two-storey building, steps from Terry Fox Drive. It sits in March Road Mall, with free parking in the lot. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Sunday, kids eat free with an adult entrée. The menu runs on fries, plus wings, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Service is quick and friendly.
