The first Barley Mow opened in 1996 in Kanata, planting an English-style neighbourhood pub in Ottawa's growing suburban business park. The name evokes traditional pub heritage, and the formula travelled: Stittsville in 2012, then Orleans, Barrhaven, Westboro, and Merivale, eventually reaching Almonte and Brockville for eight locations in all.
Each pub keeps its own personality, with live entertainment, trivia nights, and screens for the game, while sharing the same comfort-food core: fish and chips, wings, curry, pub burgers, and poutine alongside the craft taps.
