The first Barley Mow opened in 1996 in Kanata, an English-style neighbourhood pub for Ottawa's growing suburbs. The chain spread across the region one community fixture at a time. The Stittsville location is a single-storey building. There's free parking in the lot. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. Maybe more for grown-ups, but the Sunday kids deal makes it an easy family stop. There are booths, there's a patio, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Sunday, kids eat free with an adult entrée. The menu runs on fish and chips, plus wings, sandwiches, fries, and burgers. Service is quick and friendly.
