Astoria Shish Kebob House opened in 1972 in the heart of Toronto's Greektown on the Danforth, bringing family recipes to the city's growing Greek community. Five decades later the souvlaki is still the point. The Bayview Hill location has free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 80 and 452 stop right outside. Inside it has a family-casual feel. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Sunday, kids twelve and under eat free with an adult entrée. The menu runs on fries, plus sandwiches, salads, and souvlaki. Service is quick and friendly.
