Astoria Shish Kebob House opened in 1972 in the heart of Toronto's Greektown on Danforth Avenue and became an institution of Greek dining in the city. The founders set out to bring authentic family recipes to Toronto's growing Greek community, and the kitchen still cooks the Mediterranean way: fresh, light, built on quality ingredients. The menu centres on souvlaki in multiple varieties, with grilled calamari, moussaka, Greek salad, and saganaki flamed tableside.
Over five decades the family grew to five locations across the Greater Toronto Area: the original on the Danforth, plus Newmarket, Mississauga, Vaughan, and Richmond Hill, each carrying the same dedication as the original.
