Swiss Chalet has roasted chicken on a spit since 1954. The restaurant took its name from the Alpine look of the first location on Bloor Street in Toronto. That same rotisserie chicken, fresh-cut fries, and infamous "Chalet" dipping sauce survives today. The Markville location has free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 14 and 24 stop right outside. Inside it has a family-casual feel. There are booths, strollers fit easily, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Wednesday, kids ten and under eat free with an adult entrée.
