Swiss Chalet has roasted chicken on a spit since 1954. The restaurant took its name from the Alpine look of the first location on Bloor Street in Toronto. That same rotisserie chicken, fresh-cut fries, and infamous "Chalet" dipping sauce survives today. The Unionville location is a single-storey building. It sits in the CF Markville Guest Services plaza, with free parking in the lot, and the route 1 bus stops right outside. Inside it has a family-casual feel. There are booths, there's a patio, and it takes reservations. The washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Wednesday, kids ten and under eat free with an adult entrée.
