Swiss Chalet has roasted chicken on a spit since 1954. The restaurant took its name from the Alpine look of the first location on Bloor Street in Toronto. That same rotisserie chicken, fresh-cut fries, and infamous "Chalet" dipping sauce survives today. The Cooksville location has free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 7 and 35 stop right outside. Inside it has a modern-minimalist feel. There are booths, strollers fit easily, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Wednesday, kids ten and under eat free with an adult entrée. Service is quick and friendly.
