Swiss Chalet has roasted chicken on a spit since 1954. The restaurant took its name from the Alpine look of the first location on Bloor Street in Toronto. That same rotisserie chicken, fresh-cut fries, and infamous "Chalet" dipping sauce survives today. The Downtown Cobourg location is a single-storey building, steps from Northumberland Hills Hospital. There's free parking in the lot. Inside it has a family-casual feel. There's a patio, it takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible.
