Swiss Chalet has roasted chicken on a spit since 1954. The restaurant took its name from the Alpine look of the first location on Bloor Street in Toronto. That same rotisserie chicken, fresh-cut fries, and infamous "Chalet" dipping sauce survives today. The Eglinton East location has free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 86 and 116 stop right outside. Inside it has a family-casual feel. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Wednesday, kids ten and under eat free with an adult entrée. The menu runs on fries, plus parmigiana, ribs, tenders, and pizza.
