Swiss Chalet has roasted chicken on a spit since 1954. The restaurant took its name from the Alpine look of the first location on Bloor Street in Toronto. That same rotisserie chicken, fresh-cut fries, and infamous "Chalet" dipping sauce survives today. The Yonge-St.Clair location is a single-storey building on Yonge at St Clair, steps from the St Clair subway station. It sits in the Delisle Court plaza, and the route 97 bus stops right outside. Inside it has a family-casual feel. There are booths, it takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Wednesday, kids ten and under eat free with an adult entrée.
