Nickels was co-founded in 1990 by Celine Dion and four friends, named for her and Rene Angelil's lucky number, five. The Montreal smoked meat made it an institution. The Chomedey location is a single-storey building, steps from Centre Laval. There's free parking in the lot, and buses on routes 39 and 42 stop right outside. Inside it has a family-casual feel.
