Three brothers, Paul, Peter, and Perry Jeffery, founded Kelseys in Oakville in 1978, backed by their parents' life savings and inspired by road trips to American roadhouses. The name came from their favourite Chicago restaurant on Kelseys Road. The Snelgrove location is a single-storey building. There's free parking in the lot, and the route 5 bus stops right outside. Inside it's a proper sports bar with TVs for the game and a full bar. There are booths, there's a patio, and strollers fit easily. It takes reservations, and the washroom is wheelchair accessible. On Tuesday, kids twelve and under eat free with an adult entrée. The menu runs on burger, plus ribs, pasta, wings, and tenders. Kelseys runs kids-eat-free at select locations, and this is one of them. Service is quick and friendly. It's a wings-and-beer room at heart, so go in expecting a sports bar, not a quiet dinner.
