The Chopped Leaf opened in 2009 in Kelowna's Orchard Plaza, a Romaine-based salad bar built on fresh ingredients and signature dressings the founders discovered during their travels. The first franchise followed on Robson Street in Vancouver in 2011, and in 2014, with 18 locations running, Stevens sold to Innovative Food Brands while staying on as Brand President.
The menu is chef-designed and built for mixed tables: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-friendly, kid-friendly, and carnivore options all coexist, and everything is made in front of you from ingredients you can see. Of its 115-plus locations, just four offer a kids-eat-free special and they're all right here: both Kamloops locations, at Southgate and the North Shore, and both in Waterloo, at Highland West and Northdale.
