Symposium runs kids eat free on Sundays: one free kids meal per adult, dine-in, for kids 12 and under. The kids menu covers breakfast items, burgers, pasta, chicken fingers, and grilled cheese, and breakfast until 4pm means late-rising families still get pancakes. High chairs and boosters are standard, and the frescoes give the room its character.

Bill and Terry Argo founded the first Symposium Cafe in London, Ontario in 1996 as a dessert destination, and the concept grew as customers asked for more: breakfast through late night, gourmet burgers, steak frites, pasta, seafood, and an extensive vegetarian selection, all under the Renaissance-inspired frescoes and stone-art walls that made the original memorable. Full bar service and European cappuccinos round out the room.

Franchising began in 2004 and spread the concept across Southern Ontario, with about 24 locations operating today. The Canadian Franchise Association named Symposium Franchisor of the Year in 2017, and the chain partners with World Vision, each new location sponsoring a child.
