Hooters opened its first location in an old Clearwater nightclub in 1983 and grew to more than 430 locations in 28 countries. After financial challenges in 2024 and 2025, the original founders reacquired the brand and announced a return to its family-friendlier roots, a repositioning the Canadian rooms already lean into: casual, energetic sports bars where the game is always on.
